I am a marine ecologist interested on how marine top predators utilize their environment and react to human disturbances: from the effect that marine acoustic surveys have on the foraging behavior of large baleen whales, to how climatic changes impact the habitat available for marine predators. I have also developed a line of investigation using biogeochemical markers to study the ecology (current and past) of marine mammals and to assess ecosystem health and status (e.g. regime shifts, sources of carbon, trophic web structure, etc.).
